The 13 Best Stones for Throat Chakra

The 13 Best Stones for Throat Chakra

Before moving on to discuss the throat chakra, we must establish what I mean by a chakra.

A chakra is a center of spiritual power and energy in the human body. There are seven such centers in the human body. These are:

· The Crown Chakra situated at the top of the head.

· The Third Eye Chakra centered on the forehead.

· The Throat Chakra centered on the throat and neck.

· The Heart Chakra which sits in the center of the chest.

· The Solar Plexus Chakra which lies at the base of the rib cage.

· The Sacral Chakra which is situated in the area of the belly button.

· The Root Chakra at the bottom of the spine.

Each chakra has a different role to play in your life:

The Crown Chakra (Sahasrara in Sanskrit) defines your spiritual connections. It also influences your life’s aspirations and ambitions.

The Third Eye Chakra (Ajna in Sanskrit) controls intuition and imagination. It is your Third Eye Chakra that influences you when you follow your instincts.

The Throat Chakra (Vishuddha) is connected to your ability to communicate. More detail on this chakra will come later in the article.

The Heart Chakra (Anahata) influences your ability to be compassionate and to love.

The Solar Plexus Chakra (Svadhisthana) controls both creative and sexual energies. It also influences your emotions and your ability to relate empathically with others.

The Root Chakra (Muladhara) keeps you grounded. It also gives you tenacity in the face of difficulties and encourages your sense of being secure and stable.

In this post our focus is the throat chakra.

What is the throat chakra?

This chakra is the fifth chakra. It is positioned in the middle of your neck, at the same level as your throat. Its position makes it the channel for the spiritual energy that passes from your lower body to your head.

The position of the fifth chakra relates to your body’s ability to make sounds. Your throat houses your voice box and so controls your ability to communicate and to express yourself. Consequently, there is a link with clarity of thought.

The throat chakra is also linked with your mouth, jaw, tongue, and palate in addition to your pharynx. The link also extends to your shoulders and neck. Your thyroid gland is also within your throat chakra’s sphere of influence. The thyroid is a vital gland, as it controls the energies passing through your body.

Traditionally and symbolically, each chakra has an associated color and symbol. The throat chakra is represented by the colors blue, turquoise or aquamarine blue. The auric color of the energy emitted by the throat chakra is smoky purple.

The throat chakra’s symbol comprises a circle surrounded by siteen petals. Also there is a crescent with a circle within it, and on occasions, a triangle pointing downward with a circle held within that. Normally, the color of this symbol will be smoky purple, or blue.

Now that we know where the throat chakra is positioned, its symbolic color and the composition of the symbol associated with it, let us look at the aspects of your behavior and your life that it influences.

We have already seen that it guides communication. Verbal communication is not the only one affected. The throat chakra also connects with non-verbal communication regardless of whether it is internal or external.

Part of your ability to communicate is being able to express your views and beliefs. The throat chakra will guide you as you do this. It helps you to speak out, and to defend yourself and your ideas.

Your throat chakra connects you to the spiritual realm. In this way it boosts your intuition. Also, it enhances your spiritual self.

The fifth chakra is closely allied with your creative abilities. It assists your ability to discuss new ideas and to get plans and new projects realized. Your confidence in your own abilities is promoted by the throat chakra.

We all have dreams that we fondly hope to make come true one day. You will have goals that you set yourself, be they personal or in your career. These dreams and goals give us a sense of purpose – and for some they see it as their vocation. The throat chakra helps you to realize these dreams and goals.

Linked with that is the throat chakra’s role in our sense of timing. Knowing when to take action or make a decision can be crucial in the success of a project. The throat chakra greatly influences this feature of our characters.

You can see, therefore, that the throat chakra in concerned with your personality. It influences many aspects of your character. It also connects with the second chakra where emotions and artistic creativity are located.

Due to its position, the throat chakra can be something of an obstruction to the free flow of the body’s energies. It is really important that these energies are allowed to flow naturally. Keeping the throat chakra open and functioning properly is essential to your body’s correct functioning and your spiritual wellbeing.

If your throat chakra is blocked or out of balance, then you might find yourself suffering from all of some of these following psychological maladies:

· Losing control of your speech by speaking more than necessary or even inappropriately

· Not listening to what other have to say or to their opinions

· Experiencing a fear of talking

· Speaking in a low, barely discernible voice

· Lying frequently and even lying in an imaginative way

· Not being able to keep your promises, or to keep secrets

· Losing your sense of purpose

· When these factors occur, you begin to feel insecure

· You will begin to feel unable to take action – becoming timid and introverted

An imbalance in your throat chakra can lead to other problems that relate to the chakra being overactive:

· Becoming a gossip

· Excessive talking and non-stop talking

· Using aggressive speech

· Becoming verbally abusive

· Developing intolerance when others are speaking

· Becoming arrogant and manipulative

When these unacceptable behaviors surface, then it is necessary to take steps to unblock the throat chakra and to restore its balance. There are several ways of performing throat chakra healing. One of the most common is by using healing stones.

All healing stones emit vibrations, and these can be used to restore the balance of your throat chakra. The stones must be placed on or very near the area occupied by the throat chakra. The vibrations from the stones will drive the negative energy away, so cleansing the chakra.
